ABOUT ABOUT

Cable knitting is an iconic technique that evokes classic fishermans sweaters and celtic knots, but is also used in stylish contemporary patterns. To achieve this look, knitters work stitches out of order to  create twists, braids, honeycombs, and other raised textures. In this workshop we will cover the fundamentals of cable knitting: the basic left and right cross. You will learn how to use a cable needle, how to interpret the various styles of written cable patterns, and you’ll learn some tricks to achieve good definition on cable motifs.

Knitting Techniques is a series of Saturday afternoon workshops featuring intermediate and advanced knitting skills. Each three hour class will offer an in-depth exploration of a single technique. Students will watch demonstrations, receive hands-on support, and knit small swatches to practice each skill.
