ABOUT ABOUT

Knitters work short rows to transform the basic knitting shape - a rectangle - into wedges, crescents, and curves. Short rows are used in sweater knitting to raise the backs of collars and shape sleeve caps, and they’re frequently used in shawls to create fun and unexpected shapes. In this workshop we’ll learn how to interpret written short row instructions, and we’ll cover the basic techniques used in working short rows such as “wrap & turn” and “pick up wraps.”

Knitting Techniques is a series of Saturday afternoon workshops featuring intermediate and advanced knitting skills. Each three hour class will offer an in-depth exploration of a single technique. Students will watch demonstrations, receive hands-on support, and knit small swatches to practice each skill.
